Join the WeRide Community
Do you feel uncomfortable sitting alone in the bus or the subway? Do you avoid using it at night? You don’t know how to react, when you witness a criminal act in public transportation? You wish you had direct companionship to face such threatening situations? Good news! Thanks to the WeRide-App you will see helpful people in your vicinity who are just one click away to give support. WeRide is the first App that aims to reduce the fear in public transportation by facilitating ad-hoc community building.
The App at a glance
Make the community visible
The WeRide Mobile App allows public transport passengers to see whether fellow passengers willing to help are in the vicinity. Every helpful passenger can signal through a single tap her willingness to stand-by. This option allows worried passengers to relax and advances a feeling of safety, by revealing - without even interacting with co-passengers - that they are not alone. In case no passenger is around this function finds the closest spot with supportive passengers.
Interact with fellow passengers
Via the community section of the WeRide App passengers can exchange observations with others and ask for assistance - either by referring to hyperlocal group chat or, in case of emergency, sending a direct message via phone to single passengers in the proximity of the public transport vehicle.
Act as a group
Facing threatening situations, the WeRide App enables passengers to take collective action, either overtly or clandestinely. Passengers can, for instance, agree on letting their phones ring synchronously to achieve a situational turnaround-by-surprise.
Call for assistance
For the rare occasions of actual intimidations the WeRide App offers instant calls for assistance via a digital SOS channel: per single tap passengers can reach out to security personnel and transport police. Additionally, passengers can chose to act as witness by recording and documenting events and by this resolving crimes.
