Kick-Off @ Berlin.
In January 2019 TU Berlin invited our colleagues from TeamDev (Perugia, Italy), Crowdee GmbH and Nexus (Berlin, Germany) for the Kick-Off meeting of the Do Not Fear Innovation Activity.
Partners Onboarding.
During February 2019 we worked hard to agree on the most suitable project management roadmap for the remaining months and ways to realize a smooth interaction and exchange with our Italian partners from TeamDev in Perugia, Italy.
Focus Group with End-Users.
Our first direct contact with members of our end-user target group took place in March 2019 where we conducted a focus group session, facilitated by team members from the Nexus institute. The rich data set we received from that as an outcome helped us to agree on user stories and high-level task flows.
Stakeholder workshop with BVG.
Equipped with insights from potential customers we met in April 2019 with our most important business partner from the public transport sector in Berlin city, Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe AöR – main public transport company of Berlin. BVG manages the city’s U-Bahn underground railway, tram, bus, replacement services and ferry networks, but not the S-Bahn urban rail system.
MVP Mobile App.
In cooperation with DC Berlin Digital Design Agency and TeamDev in Italy we designed and developed the first version of the Mobile App UI and UX during May 2019, after further ideation sessions to arrive at a charming name for our product and a friendly, cozy visual look-and-feel.
Business Development.
Parts of our time in June 2019 was dedicated to draft the first business plan for our product, including market analysis, budgeting, and competitor reviews to prepare appropriately for access to market resp. to finance and align respective strategies accordingly.
StartUp Incubation.
A significant proportion of our time during July 2019 was spent with meeting further crucial stakeholders, i.e., research units of the police forces in Berlin, to learn about their experiences concerning subjective safety in public transport, approaches to tackle prominent issues, recommendations and needs to further improve passenger experience.
Beta Testing.
Starting from mid of August 2019 the beta version of our mobile app was published, initialising an intense systematic software testing period to improve on interaction flow and logic, as well as remove major obvious and hidden bugs.
Mid-Term Meeting @ Brussels.
In September 2019 all team members (i.e., TU Berlin, TeamDev, Nexus and Crowdee GmbH) met for the midterm meeting in Brussels at Fraunhofer Institute to wrap up what has been accomplished so far and plan for the roadmap towards year end. Related to this event the team enjoyed the EIT Digital conference and partner event for networking and exploration of new business and cooperation opportunities.
